The Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at Kailash Hospital offers a comprehensive range of specialized services in critical care medicine. The department is dedicated to patient care, with highly skilled team, state-of-the-art facilities and focuses on critical care transport and poison management. The Anesthesiology & Critical Care Department at Kailash Hospital comprises:
- Six Operating Theatres (OTs)
- One Endoscopy Unit
- Five ICUs, including the Medical ICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU & High Dependency Unit, providing critical care services across 90 beds.
The department’s strength lies in its well-structured team hierarchy, encompassing highly experienced Anaesthesiology doctors including Senior Consultants, Consultants, Senior Residents, Resident Medical Officers, etc. The Department has been recognized for postgraduate (DNB) & post doctorate courses (Dr NB) in Anaesthesiology & Critical Care. In addition to this, the department holds recognition from the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) for postgraduate courses in Critical Care and actively enrolls students in these programs.
All Operation Theatres (OTs) are equipped with a centralized anesthesia gas delivery system, laminar flow, and modern anesthesia workstations. Moreover, the department boasts protocolized ICUs with invasive and non-invasive monitors and 21 new-generation ventilators, including dedicated neonatal ventilators, that reckon us as best critical care hospital in Noida.
The department caters to a large number of cases per month under Anaesthesia that includes Neuro-surgery, Minimal Access Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery and Spine Surgery as well. One of the key features of the department is its dedicated pediatric anesthesiology team, which offers specialized services for pediatric and neonatal surgeries with the support of neonatal intensive care.
The department handles a wide array of anesthesia cases every month, including Neurosurgery, Minimal Access Surgery, Joint Replacement Surgery, and Spine Surgery.

Management of Poisoning and Snake Bites
Kailash Hospital's Critical Care team comprises Intensivist trained in "Poison Control in South East Asian Regional Organization (SEARO) Countries" by the World Health Organization (WHO). They are well prepared to manage acute poisoning or envenomation cases, including snake bites and scorpion bites. The center also handles insecticides/pesticide poisoning, prevalent in the region, offering antidotes and multi-organ life support when necessary.
The department of Anaesthesia & Critical Care is led by Dr. Anil Gurnani, Group Director of Critical Care, Kailash Healthcare Ltd. Dr. Gurnani is a distinguished specialist in the Critical Care and holds impressive academic and clinical record, including a graduate and postgraduate degree from Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, DNB in Anaesthesiology, and Fellowship in the Indian College of Critical Care Medicine & FCCS from Hawaii, USA. He had extensive experience as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at the University College of Medical Sciences & G.T.B. Hospital, Delhi.
He is the recipient of prestigious “Inspiring Intensivist of the Year 2022 by Economic times; Currently Chairman, Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) Delhi-Noida.
Dr. Gurnani is recognized for his commendable work in national and international publications in areas such as trauma, anesthesia, critical care, and acute poisoning. He has edited a book on Trauma Anesthesia & Critical Care and authored a book on Rescue and Resuscitation. His expertise and dedication extend to his active participation in international forums and seminars, where he presents research papers and posters. His special interest lies in the field of Intensive Care, particularly Resuscitation, artificial Ventilation & antibiotics usage.
